KC CRAINE
Award winning musician KC Craine is a veteran of the 1980's San Francisco music scene, having shared the stage with many of the popular acts of the time including Huey Lewis and the News, Jefferson Starship, and Eddie and the Tide. After a 10-year hiatus, he has resurfaced in Portland, Oregon and built a loyal following of acoustic music fans in the Pacific Northwest.
The instrumental guitar album “Second Wind” was released in 2003 and marked KC’s return to the music scene. This CD features smooth and peaceful acoustic guitar compositions perfect for relaxing on Sunday morning with a cup of tea or easing the rush-hour commute during the working week. KC's style is romantic, understated and lyrical. Cuts selected from "Second Wind" are featured on the soundtrack to the 2005 documentary film "Hineini" directed by Irena Fayngold from Boston PBS giant WGBH as well as the popular TV show "Smallville."
"Daddy's Old Guitar" is KC’s newest CD. This album is a departure from the instrumental focus of "Second Wind," and features a roots-oriented sound that compares favorably to the great singer/songwriters of the 70's.
KC travels the crossroads of American folk and alt-country with a backpack full of tasty fingerstyle guitar, bittersweet harmonica and relaxed vocal harmonies.

"McKenzie Pass" is a delight, reminds me a bit of Windham Hill guitarists I have heard.

I just saw your concert last night and enjoyed your music very much. I found myself moved and led to introspection several times. I especially liked how you placed yourself in your community and family lineage. "Daddy's Old Guitar" was the title I remember, but there were others. How interesting to hear how you've taken your life as it is and made music from it.
