Guitar Lessons
I accept a limited number of students on acoustic guitar, electric guitar and bass. I've been teaching guitar for over 35 years, and I use my experience as a working musician in a wide range of styles to help each student learn quickly.
SPECIALTY: Beginning students, and folks that have been playing for a while but need help getting "over the hump."
APPROACH: Fun first, theory second.
STYLES: Folk, New Age, Country, Blues and Rock/Pop.
LEVELS: Beginning students start with chords and strumming. Learn songs you know and enjoy. Add songs to your "song bag" for singing and playing at home, by the campfire, at church, etc.
Intermediate students move on to finger picking and embellishments that bring character to your playing. Learn how to put together your own arrangements of songs that fit your personal style. Learn how to compose your own songs. Learn "riffs and licks" that sound great but are not difficult to play.
Advanced students learn chord composition, scales and lead guitar methods. Learn to sing and play, and put together a "set" for performance. Learn techniques for recording and accompanying other singers. Learn concepts for playing in a band.
